Posted: 1/15/04 at 1:36pmThis makes me so sad. She is an inspiration for so many actors. Truely loved the craft and passed that passion on to anyone who would listen. This is a huge loss. Thank you, Uta, for everything you did to make theatre magical and meaningful and truthful.

She was also known for her use of earthy language in class.
We wrote a song about her about 10 years ago with deepest apologies to Frank Loesser, called "Wonderful, Wonderful Uta Hagen".
'...Better than Sandy or Lee.
Since those two are dead,
We'll take her instead,
And say Uta Hagen, teach me!'
