See it is time to update "not since Carrie"
Sad for everyone involved except for Val -- a true legend in his own mind

"I couldn't even begin to decypher any of the lyrics. It all has this bad Enya feel to it."
This is my favorite quote of the week, and possibly of the entire month.

Posted: 9/23/04 at 7:39pmI saw the whole show on the 22nd. Ouch! If you are looking for the quality of a Broadway show, don't attend this. The previous experience of many of the creators and producers are in music videos and Las Vegas, and that is painfully obvious. I was able to decipher the lyrics just fine, but in this case that was often not a positive thing. There were some very good vocal performances that transcended the show, mainly the women and Adam Lambert as Joshua, and especially Kevin Earley as Ramses, the true star. Val Kilmer's voice was weak, and it usually seemed as if he were just walking through the show. The actor playing Seti the Pharaoh has great credits and training, but NONE of that made it to this stage. If you already love the story, you might find it interesting to see this interpretation, but if I had paid full price I'd be severely disappointed.

Now I want to see this show out of pure morbid curiosity. I want to see just how bad it really is! I've always wanted to see the Kodak Theatre too.
Of course, I'll heed everyone's advice and I'm not going to waste my money (hey, I'm poor--I'm unemployed!). You all say that they are "papering the house heavily"--this means that they are giving tickets away for free, right? (Sorry, I'm a newbie.) And DAME, in your original message, you said that you can get free tickets from any hotel concierge--do you have to be a guest at the hotel? If anyone has tips on how I can score some free tickets, please let me know.
