I know its been discussed before, but I was wondering which theatre Vanities would be occupying. After doing some research my guess asof now is the Booth since it is currently empty and has housed musicals before, but I could be wrong since I don't the size of the show which might mean that it could need a theatre larger or samller than the Booth.
Nederlander is open, too.
Helen Hayes will be open soon as well :[
But according to an article by playbill.com, it specificly stated that Vanities will be opening in a Shubert house.
VANITIES is almost surely taking The Helen Hayes.
If [title of show] closes thats one more theatre, on the bigger side.

I would think Next to Normal would want the Hayes depending on their DC run, but Vanities prob has dibs on it.

Vanities is going to open in a Shubert house... the Helen Hayes is not a Shubert house.
Ambassador, Barrymore, Belasco, Booth, Broadhurst, Broadway, Cort, Golden, Imperial, Jacobs, Longacre, Lyceum, Majestic, Music Box, Schoenfeld, Shubert, Winter Garden
Those are the potential homes of Vanities... at the moment, only the Schoenfeld and Booth will be open in time for it to open.
The Broadhurst will be open by February as well, and if Vanities postpones then it could go there. Also, since many shows close around the new year, some of these theatres could become available. The Lyceum is probable.

Is the show still transferring? I honestly can't see it being any sort of success on Broadway.
I'm not trying to be mean or bitchy, but that show was pretty weak.

I agree with you Blonde. I didn't see the musical, but the play is mediocre.
>The Broadhurst will be open by February as well<
Mary Stuart follows Equus into the Broadhurst, opening April 19.
Well... it is now a mediocre play with songs trampling all over it.
The high school scene were PAINFUL.. and almost every time they opened their mouths to sing I groaned.
Funny thing...the composer is definitely talented.. but you sit there asking yourself why did he bother?
As for staging..
It seemed to me all those girls did for the first half of the show was change costumes on stage.
I saw it and while I enjoyed it greatly I did not see a transfer. I do see many schools and amateur productions
i saw a workshop (45 minutes) and really liked it. Not art, but i can see the commercial aspects, and certainly entertaining. Loved Sarah Stiles who i think is still with it. It made me think of GREATER TUNA, which is not necessarily a bad thing, but i know not everyone's cup of tea.
