Is there an actress working on Broadway today more worthy of some love than Victoria Clark? She is absolutely amazing! I'm already plotting how I can get back to NYC to see "Piazza" one more time before it closes. Please excuse all of the "Piazza" threads--it's my new obsession!
Haven't seen Piazza yet, but my first show was Titanic, and I fell in love with this actress who played Alice Beane, not even knowing who Victoria clark Was. so I guess I'm saying that Clark was my first Broadway love. then I got to research her more, because my school did H2$ and I learned the show from the revival cast recording.
I love Victoria Clark. She's an amazing singer and actress, and a very nice person. She deserved the Tony.
It's okay about the Piazza threads! Many many people on here love it, including me :).
Oh Pippin, you must see "Piazza"! It is the most amazing show. Perfect in every way!

She really is absolutely amazing. I don't know if it is just because of the characters she plays, but she seems so classy too!
I have nothing to add other than that I recently discovered that my parents saw her in both A Chorus Line and Cats when the tours came by San Francisco in the early 80s. Hah!
Now, how much would you guys pay on eBay for these playbills...?
MasterLcZ- What's Friday?
I know I'm being stupid here, but I'm guessing Victoria must have played Grizabella in "Cats"? Who did she play in "A Chorus Line"?

I don't know who she actually played, but I can definitely see her as a Sheila!
She was Jennyanydots in Cats.
Victoria Clark will be performing two concerts at Lincoln Center's Allen Room on Friday night, Feb. 10. She'll also be at Birdland's Jeff Blumencrantz concert on Monday the 13th.

I forgot about that. I can't go.
And while you at it, check out Jeff's podcast.
Victoria recorded "I Won't Mind" (a real "rip your heart out and grab the kleenex" number, that Audra also sings REALLY well) on Episide #5.
Check them all out...they're all oh-so-good!

Love her! I didn't realize her and Michael went to college together.
Everyone should watch the ATW discussion. I really enjoyed what she had to say about performing.

She's wonderbar!
OK... after reading this article, who wants to marry Victoria Clark?
She loves to cook and eat and she loves shopping at flea markets and loves 1930s toasters.
She is the perfect woman.
"VICTORIA CLARK, the Tony-winning star of "The Light in the Piazza," has what she calls "a need to feed." The actress who takes her homemade banana bread to the rest of the cast? The one who stops by the Magnolia Bakery and picks up cupcakes? That would be the red-headed Ms. Clark, who spends much of her off time cooking and baking — and is not one of those actresses who starve themselves.
"I love to eat," Ms. Clark said. "And as I'm eating, I'm thinking ahead of what I'm going to be eating for my next four meals in a row."
"If you can make people laugh — if you can make people cry. If you can sing really well and feed them really well, to me that says love. You sustain people with laughter. I used to say I'd like to do a show where I could cook, but really cook and feed the audience."
"Entertainment, healing," Ms. Clark said. "They all fall in the same category."
Victoria goes Waffle Iron wacky!
I'll be at the 10:30 show this coming Friday. Can't wait!
Vicki was never in A Chorus Line; your parents must be getting her mixed up with Vicki Frederick. She was in Cats, though.
Words cannot express how much I love this woman and how glad I am that she's finally getting the attention she's deserved for so long; she's such an incredible, risky performer, and seeing her in a show is always thrilling and an absolute joy. I wish I was going to her concert, but I'm going into tech that day I'm expecting detailed reviews.
