I haven't rushed since before Maroulis joined the cast. Is it more crowded now? Hwo early would I have to get there for a Sunday?
Thanks

well, i know for yesterday (Saturday), tchi got there at about 9:50 in the morning, and there was 1 ticket available for the night show, and 5 for the matinee...hope that gave you a bit of an idea
:)
have a good time when you go!
Weekends are hardest.
Usually I'm always first on line...but I'd only done weekday performances.
My first Saturday I got there close to an hour and a half before the box office opened and I was probably fifth in line.
So, I'd give yourself time.
Wow. thanks.
Are they only selling front row, or do they sell whatever's left also?
Front row only.

wow, id hate to try and rush this around New Years... :P
hope my parents will get tickets beforehand!
Damn.
thanks again.
I got there at 8:25 on Saturday. There were 6 people in line.
I don't know how I managed, but I got to the box office yesterday (10/14) at 10:30, and managed to purchase the last two rush tickets for the matinee. At the time, the box office woman said there was only one left for the evening show.

Do they sell the tickets in order, starting on the side, or if you get to rush early (I'm looking at a Saturday matinee) can you request middle?
I'm not usually a front row fan and this will be the second (and absolute last) time I'm seeing the show and I'll be with my best friend (her first TWS performance) so I want to make the best out of it. Do I just time it so people are in front of me so I can get close to middle if the box office can't handle a request? If so, when is best?
*Edited to specify matinee

When did they stop selling unsold side Orchestra seats? Both times I rushed (May and July) I got right side Orchestra in the second and fifth row.
they stopped at the end of the summer.

They say that they sell front row only, but my friend and I went and the man at the box office sold us two tickets in, about, the ninth row in the orchestra. The same person I was with told me that he and some friends purchased rush tickets and they were in the mezzanine. I don't know how or why, but, I guess, on occasion, they are not only in the front row.

I went on Tuesday 10/10 at 6:27 pm...I got seat A 1...Maybe I just got lucky??
I went one random Sunday a bit after they opened and they ran out. Maybe depending on how fast sales are going for that performance determines whether or not they will sell remaining seats at student rush prices.

ive seen the show plenty of times, getting rush tickets most of the time, and it has been a little more crowded since constantine arrived. hope this helps people out
weekdays-not too big of a line, can usually still get rush tickets right up until showtime
saturday-get there about 90 minutes before the box office opens, thats usually your best best, especially since theres both the matinee and evening
sunday-if you want front row, get there about 2 hours before, maybe even earlier

That is very cool to hear. I am so happy he is drawing in crowds.

yeah...but being completely honest, it only started getting really crowded recently...almost every show in the last 2 weekends has been sold out or nearly sold out, and that started when laura came back so who knows

the weekends are usually sold out.... especially since he came in because thats when all the little girls can come out since there is no school.
but rush is sooooo hard to predict for the show. one time i went to rush and got there at 8 am on a sunday and was the only person in line until about 9:30. the next sunday i walked by the theater on my way to hairspray and at 11:30am there were barely any people on the line. then the next sunday i got to rush at 8am and was behind 6 people who were getting a total of 11 tickets (not me the people in front of me).
i think people who do rush to see the show because they love the show get there earlier than those who wanna do rush because they just wanna see a show for cheap. it just varies i guess depending on what crowd is around that day.
rush is easiest during the week i think.
"every show in the last 2 weekends has been sold out or nearly sold out"
According to the grosses that they currently have up, it sold at 74.7% the week of 10/8 and 64.9% the week before. That's hardly sold out or nearly sold out.
That's for the whole week, though. The weekend may very well have been much more popular- I would say that most entertainments in general fare much better on the weekends.
Been thinking about trying the rush for this show next time I'm down in New York- thanks for some info!

8:25 in the morning?! I thought that WS rush was pretty easy and that you could get tickets no matter when you went. I read that on another thread. Now I'm hearing different things. I'm confused.
I think shows tend to fare better on the weekends, being there is not only the factor of having to work/go to school (for some anyway) the next day, but also a lot of people come in from out of town Friday through Sunday as well.
I am curious about how the show did overall last week; the grosses are due out today!
