WICKED in Pittsburgh tonight. Katie Rose Clarke mess ups!!

Katie Rose Clarke had quite an interesting show in Pittsburgh tonight. She is so great as Glinda!! During Popular her high heel broke. She struggled to get it off and threw it on the bed. Then did almost the whole number with only one shoe on. When it came to the part where she uses her wand to make a BALL GOWN for Elphie...she also used the wand to try and make a shoe appear on her foot. This stopped the show. Great improv during this scene!! Bravo Katie (I won the lotto so I was sitting front row center for all of this.) Carmen Cusack did a great job holding back her laughter during the whole shoe problem.

It gets better....

It all happened during the fight scene between Glinda and Elphie. Katie started to twirl her huge magic wand and she twirled it for about two seconds then it went flying into the house. It landed in the net above the pit. People in the audience screamed and ducked. I thought they were going to get there heads chopped off. Katie had quite an expression on her face. She was very shocked. But they kept cool and continued the scene.

She was just great tonight haha. Other then her two problems. She had tears streaming down her face during For Good. Carmen was wiping them away.

I talked to her at the stage door. She had her cute white dog with her. I told her she almost killed us with her wand. She gave us a big hug and said she was so sorry.
She is such a sweetheart and quite the performer.

It really was. The tour is in great shape. Everyone was excellent. You just gotta love when things like this happen. The joy of live theatre.

I remember seeing Katie in Hartford last year. It was my first time seeing Wicked on tour and it was interesting seeing how the show changed from Broadway onto going on the road.

My one problem with Katie was that I felt like she milked some of the funny lines to get more laughs then she needed to get from them.

I can totally see Katie Rose trying to make a shoe appear on her foot....LOL. She has had problems twirling that wand for a awhile now hasn't she. I saw her in Feb and she kept getting it stuck on her dress.

Awww at the FG. She does get very emotional. It's getting near the end of their run and it must be getting hard for them.

How full was the lotto? I'm going next Sunday for the last show there.

I saw the tour in Pittsburgh on September 18 and it was fantastic. The entire cast is great. Carmen Cusack and Katie Rose Clarke were wonderful.

There was, though, what I'm assuming was a technical error. The map of Oz came down after the finale, but then we just sat there for a few minutes, many people cheering, until the music began and it went back up for the curtain call. The lotto has been growing and growing every week. I think because keep calling the box office asking for tickets and the employee's tell EVERYONE about the lotto. There must have been 70-80 on Sat. night. I went a week prior and there were about 30. I'm sure this final week will be packed.
