Hun...I'm only 5 years older than you, and believe me when I was your age I was trying to find out everything I could about theater (and I still am.) And I definetely knew who Dorothy was by the time I was 15.

You know, I am one of the older members of this group, but contrary to popular opinion, I DID NOT pick up the tab for the Last Supper. However, when I was younger, I was very interested in the history of the theater and I knew about such names as Harrigan and Hart, Marilyn Miller and William Gaxton, even though I had never seen them perform. Perhaps that's the difference between my generation and the present one. We had intellectual curiosity and read about what had happened in the theater previous to our own time. I remember poring over Moss Hart's ACT ONE and going into the old Burns Mantle books to read about people who had made strong contributions to the theater in prior times.

This observation is based on my expereince in the classroom, as well as on the posting the "younggins" make on BWW.COM.

It's a pity the "younggins" never got to see Dorothy Louden perform. She was marvelous.
