I had the exact same thought (same example, even) when I learned that they were (thankfully) changing the title of the Sponge Bob musical. I've never been a fan of "the Musical" titles, either. I feel like it cheapens it, like there's an implication that the musical is shamefacedly subordinate or supplemental to the source material instead of being a work of art on its own.

Girl bye, you know what I'm talking about. If there are new original musicals going on out there we sure as hell aren't hearing about them and many of the shows that I have listed are rumored for this upcoming season.

Not interested in the property. I think Cyndi seems like a decent fit but I thought the score for Kinky Boots was pretty lazy. Still... depending on the ages of the rest of the cast... Miriam Shor for the Sigourney Weaver part?
