The original Broadway cast recording has the passion and the guts and. The performances are raw and compelling and create a marvelous listening experience. The movie soundtrack is OK, but a little too polished for my liking - especially since many were dubbed. It's much better to watch the film version than listen to the soundtrack, in my opinion. No matter what, I'm still more inclined to put on Lawrence, Kert, Rivera, etc first.

You might want to change the subject heading of your original post, spider.

And the OBC is the best. :) Avoid the operatic recording, unless you're more into the instrumentals than the singing.

nawww... neither. My favorite is the 1997 studio cast. Has the entire score AND songs with the movie changes...

I love both...but prerfer the OBCR.
There are quite a few differences (the stage version is racier), America is done by the girls in one and the girls and guys in the other...and Cool and Offer Krumpke are reversed.

I could never get sick of watching the movie, though :)

I love that show :)
