re: Waiting for Spelling Bee review tonight!

I think cast, crew, and creative team believed that they had covered all the bases by advertising, and telling people who bought tickets for this show that it was Adults Only. No one under 18 was allowed in----I think there was a general assumption that most people who attended were those who had seen the PG version and understood---but I did hear that there were people attending for the first time and even with the precaution taken, these people were unprepared.
What did you hear?

I don't think there were too many shocked people. The audience was laughing like crazy throughout the whole show. Many times the cast was waiting for the laughter to die down before they could on with the next line. I think the audience knew what they were getting into last night.

When buying tickets for the performance, ticketbuyers where informed that the performance was "adults-only" and that there was an age limit.

re: Waiting for Spelling Bee review tonight!

I do think there were some ppl seeing the show for the first time last night, since someone asked. There were quite a few jokes/appearances, etc that happen to be hysterical and I laughed, but they def got the amount and loudness of laughter from ppl who were seeing and hearing things for the first time.
"If there was a Mount Rushmore for Broadway scores, "West Side Story" would be front and center. It snaps, it crackles it pops! It surges with a roar, its energy and sheer life undiminished by the years" - NYPost reviewer Elisabeth Vincentelli

Heh when I think of the dirty pandas I didn't think of 'panda'-monium. I was thinking of an episode of South Park when they had "Sexual Harassment Panda" XD

Knowing the fertile imagination of this cast and their ability to reference--the Pandas appearance could be representative of both the song and South Park. I made the connection to the song because they first appear during the Life is Pandemonium number. Among the lyrics are panda---panda---panda.
Whatever, sparked the idea, I think it can be agreed that those pandas were an ingenius addition

These two pictures from the Adults Only Spelling Bee should clear up the significance of the Pandas

I heard from a friend that they were planning on possibly doing this once a month now. Anybody else hear this? I missed out!

CJ,
Thanks for posting the picture of the cast with The Pandas. They were such a great addition to that very memorable show
Can you post the other one with Vice Principal Panch? That one is priceless too...
