Sooo... I pulled the trigger and got tickets to Mean Girls.
Anyone knows why the prices for 4/11 Matinee on Ticketmaster are cheaper than on other dates? There are good front-mid orchestra center seats that are $169. On other schedules they're usually $199, and some dates even have them at $250+ for the very same seats.
Do they usually sell tickets at a discounted rate for a particular time/date if there are still a lot of vacant seats left? Or is something happening on that day during which half of the original cast will be away for promos?
Wasn't intending to spring for $169 seats but it's pretty much a discounted rate already for Row G center seats considering their price on other days.

Ticketmaster uses dynamic pricing, which alters the ticket prices based on demand/sales. All Wednesday matinees through 5/30 are priced lower, simply because they have the weakest sales, and generally have the lowest demand. It has nothing to do with cast absences.

Alright, thanks. That's good to know. When I checked the prices yesterday those seats were around $200, then the prices dropped a couple of hours ago.

I enjoyed WAITRESS. Only caught the closing night of MEAN GIRLS at The National and was quite underwhelmed by the repetitive songs and choreography throughout both acts. It may have improved in its move to NY but no matter how much it has I think I'd still recommend WAITRESS.
