I'm super interested in both shows, but only have room for one of them. What do y'all recommend?

I haven't seen either yet, but from what I've read/heard/seen, it depends on what kind of show you're in the mood for seeing. Waitress, judging by the music and movie and Tony performance, is a more moving and emotional type story. On Your Feet!, judging by the music, Tony performance, and subject matter, is more of a fun time with big flashy lights and well known music. Enjoy yourself. :)

On Your Feet. I was very excited to see Waitress and then I saw it and it was so underwhelming! On your feet was just a ton of fun. I do have the minority opinion on here so you may want to pick Waitress lol Enjoy whatever you see!

I liked On Your Feet, I loved Waitress.
But like was pointed out before, what are you looking for? Waitress is an emotional ride, with a good mix of funny and more dramatic moments. The music is fantastic (I can't stop listening to the cast recording). I left the theater elated, thinking I had seen a fantastic show.
On Your Feet was a fun night out. It's a juke box musical, and of course the music of Gloria Estefan is great. Considering it's based on Gloria's life it has a good story (compared to Jukebox musicals that aren't biographical). I had fun, but I wasn't nearly as impressed as at Waitress.
Also, if you live somewhere that gets tours, I'm sure On Your Feet will eventually tour, and the cast shouldn't matter all that much. In Waitress on the other hand Jessie Mueller IS the show, and I would see it with her if at all possible (I'm sure it will tour as well).

I second On Your Feet, but I will say it may depend on when you go. For example, I have seen both a Tuesday and a Saturday. The Saturday show was definitely more enjoyable because the house was full and the feeling in the audience was electric the whole way through. Tuesday was a little dead. On Your Feet is definitely a show that feeds off of the audience where as Waitress wouldn't necessarily feel different based on the size of the house.

I 100% agree with everything Iris Tinkerbell said. I definitely preferred Waitress. The music is beautiful, it is funny, and Jessie is fantastic. See it before she leaves the show. On Your Feet is fun, but it will most likely tour and as Iris said, the cast is much less important than seeing Jessie in Waitress.

Definitely Waitress because you want to see this particular original cast.
(The original cast is still at On Your Feet also but I think you would be more likely to see understudies as it's been around a while longer.)
On Your Feet is fun and yes works best in a full house like on the weekend...but if I always prefer to see a show that has original music

I totally agree with ebontoyan. Definitely "On Your Feet"! No contest ! I enjoyed Waitress, had really been looking forward to seeing it, though was personnally quite disappointed in it. Great performance by Jessie, enjoyable score, the book leaves a lot to be desired. I found it to be A small-scale show, and could not buy into the romance. On your feet was so much fun, and felt like big broadway. We laughed, we cried, we danced. It is a jukebox musical, and probably my favorite.Terrific music and fabulous choreography. We walked out feeling that we could turn around and see it again immediately. Yes, I'm sure it will tour as a crowd pleaser. However, the OBC is fantastic. Loved the lead, she totally embodied Gloria. By the way, I did not feel the Tony performance did the show justice. I love Gloria, but I'm sorry to say, I did no feel her presence was right in the number.

I saw both and really liked On Your Feet but absolutely adored Waitress. So moving yet funny and the songs are so much better. Jessie Mueller alone is worth the price of the ticket but found the entire show really great. On the other hand, if you are in the mood to get up and dance to uplifting songs, then On Your Feet would be the show.
The only review of a show that matters is your own.

No clue on Ana in OYF as she will be nearing 1.5 years on Broadway alone. That is also right around when Jessie will hit her year mark I believe (the usual contract length), so its not guaranteed that either will be there still.

Could go either way with Jessie. She was in Beautiful for quite some time so I would guess she'll be in Waitress for at least a year, but I don't know how much in demand she may be by now and if she might have another project lined up that requires her to leave earlier...
On Your Feet has been running since last fall, so I wouldn't be surprised if the leads were to leave before March next year. They aren't as well know so perhaps it's more likely they'll stay but you never know what other jobs come up. I just read the male lead (forgot his name) got a TV gig, so he'll probably leave. Ana may or may not stay. It's really almost impossible to predict that far in advance.

I just purchased tickets for March 18. I assume that since they put tickets on sale for that far out that they plan on still being open then, but do you guys think it is likely?

Did I miss something? Which show did you get tickets for?
Box offices just refund tickets if they close before the date of your tickets... I am sure that Waitress will be open..not as confident about On Your Feet. About the original cast, the male lead for On Your Feet is leaving in July.. I would be surprised if Ana will still be there as well in March if it's still open (but I have been wrong before..LOL)
