Not looking good for those at the Beaumont. This is the first I've seen them up.
I was there last Thursday and the theatre looked half empty :/

Well now that it is on tour it is easier to access it and people can go see a different show on Broadway. I hope it doesn't close because it looks amazing. I would love to catch the show (on tour) in November.
They should of changed it's schedule for the fall. Since it's over 3 hours long, they should have a 7pm starts Tue.-Thur. nights & 7:30pm starts on Fri. & Sat. nights. Wed., Sat & Sun. matinees should all start at 2pm.

War Horse is not over 3 hours long.
2 hours, 40 minutes is the running time.

It's not doing so hot anymore. It would make nearly a million a week. Now it's about half of that... according to the gross chart the show made $474,389 this week with 5,109 seats sold out of 8,552. That's 3,443 empty seats. No doubt that it's a terrific production, but what happened?
I do agree that the tour has something to do with it. But, at the same time I think that this great show has two strikes against it. The first one is that I feel that this is a show that has a limited audience. Secondly, I feel that the location has something to do with it. While it is up on TKTS every day, and while there are billboards that tell you how to get there on the subway, most tourists would rather see a show that is in the theatre district rather than venture on the subway to a part of the city that they don't know to see a show.
Now, I do recall reading something on here that talked about Lincoln Center Theater transferring the play to midtown to make way for a revival of The King and I in the fall. Considering the time, I doubt that that is going to happen. But, I think that if it were, it could help the show to be in a smaller theatre in a more tourist friendly location.
The tour is selling extremely well, and there's a lot of hype surronding the show in the cities it will be playing. Even though the Broadway production may be struggling, the tour should will fare very well.

If anyone goes, I would love to know the seating location you end up with.

Most people prefer not to be "seared" these days. The prefer being "broiled".
Thank you very much.

I just looked on TDF and it's not there.
It was at TKTS on July 26-29, when I was in NYC. I bought my tickets through an online discount offering, because I wanted to pick my seats in advance, and the price was about the same. It was a really great show. While it may be touring, there were quite a few things they did with the set at Lincoln Center that I'm sure they will not be doing on tour. It's a great show, and I'd highly recommend it to anyone.
Back up on TDF for the week of Aug. 21.

I'm going tomorrow with a bunch of people who haven't seen it yet... any word on where the TDF seats were for people who went already?

The movie may have had a bigger effect on the play than the touring company has.
My TDF seat a few nights ago was K211 on the outside aisle of the 200 section. Was a great view.

will be in australia so I have no reason to see it in new york.
Went last night, got my tickets from a student org. Except for a few rows in the side top orch. the place was pretty full (I couldn't see the loge). We had great great seats, row H, 310, 311. Center Orch Aisle. Couldn't ask for better. The show is amazing.
I asked an usher about The King and I and she was really nasty about the possibility of War Horse closing down. She said it would be way to expensive to move it to another house.
fixed

How can someone be cruel about a show called THE KIND AND I?

Can you believe it? They are usually so niceeeeeeeeee
For a play to run on Broadway for nearly 18 months is phenomenal.
To see Warhorse in its full beauty it is best seen on a thrust stage.
