I ordered through TDF for Awake and Sing and it's not that cheap and got my ticket in the mail and it is a JUNK seat way up in the balcony!
Don't order Awake and Sing through TDF. They should demand better for their members.
Go to the TKTS booth and get a half price orchestra seat and you will be much better off.
I was dying to see this show for Zoe Wanamaker, but I am not happy with this deal--it's a ripoff.
How much is "not that cheap"?
I don't mind the balcony at the Belasco. And it brings you that much closer to the spectacular stained Tiffany glass medallions on the ceiling.
Did you forget to read the bold letters?
"IMPORTANT NOTICE: Seating will be in either the rear mezzanine or balcony only. There is no elevator at the theatre."

Cost was in the 30's. I see a lot of Broadway on comps. I don't think I would pay $30's for balcony ever as I hate it. Mezz would be okay.
Thanks for the consolation, Smaxie. I'm fond of Tiffany glasswork and will have an eye out for it.
Go scold somewhere else, tiny-toon. Nice of them to put a little notice at the very bottom instead of upfront in your decision-making area, if it was even there at the time I purchased the ticket. At least I'm giving folks FAIR NOTICE.

Did I miss something Smaxie?
Where is the preview? Of the Tiffany glass?
Can you give an http address for it?
Should be there now. I was trying to find a less immense version of that photo, but decided to keep it as is.

Sorry.
I charge by the tear.
The tickets for this on TDF were $29.25 and it clearly said that tix would be in rear mezz or balcony. The balcony at the Belasco is usually $50+, so this is actually a pretty good price. If you are really not happy with your seat, sell it.
Yeah the stained glass on the ceiling of the Belasco is really a sight to see. Its so unique and beautiful. That is one of my favorite theaters.

I gather you have never purchased from TDF to see what they add to the bill.
TKTS is half-price, which means that same balcony seat would be in the 20's.
Get the picture?
Not a good deal if you want the best seat for the money for this show.

Actually, I purchase from TDF all the time and know that their handling charge is $3, so yes, it was in the early $30s. I'd say sell this ticket and wait for discount codes and/or TKTS if you want a better seat. You might pay a little more than you wanted to, but you'll get a better seat.

I've often sat in the balcony at the Belasco...it's fine.

I don't know... I usually find that TDF gives me nosebleed seats to commercial broadway productions. And I'm usually pretty much fine with it... TDF being cheap and all.
Consider this instead.. you're paying $30 to see an AMAZING play. Wherever you're sitting - it's worth easily $30. Even without the incredible cast assembled, this play is one of the best.
I believe the message of this play is:
"Life shouldn't be printed on dollar bills."
Listen and learn it.

If you charge by the tear, I am sure you could aford a top price seat, no?
