Was Tim Minchin not at the Tonys last night?

I was just wondering if Minchin was at the Awards the other night? I know that he is still with the second leg of the Jesus Christ Superstar arena tour, but was wondering if he took a break from that to come to NYC for the Tonys? I just found it odd that when they announced the nominations for best score, they showed all the composers but they didn't show him. Was he there, or was that just a technical error?

No, he was not there. He is on tour with JCS right now and chose to honor his contract instead of take a break.

Several other creatives were not present, as well. Including the Lighting Designer who beat out three Posner nominations... which was a travesty in my opinion.

To be fair, apparently his tour is in Sydney right now. It's not like flying in from LA for a night and then flying back... Australia is a hell of a commute.

I wondered this too. They also didn't show Diane Paulus while they were announcing the nominees for Director.

Same reason that Angela wasn't there to do the customary spiel for the Theatre Wing.
