I saw WE WILL ROCK YOU twice. With both sets of leads. They have the two leads roles alternate. Tony vincent was good, but my favorite was Jason Wooten. It is a fun show, the jokes are geared towards Las Vegas and it is shorter than the London version.
I think I had mentioned it here before. Anyway, my friend in the UK saw it and said it was not like the London version. He also enjoyed the show.

Posted: 12/21/04 at 7:26amI saw the UK version and it was absolute hell to get through. It's worse than MAMMA MIA - it really doesn't make any sense. The plot is GOD AWFUL, and the design team came up with some really obnoxious things. The cast was very good though.

Yay for Jason Wooten! He's awesome (little plug cause he's an alumni of my college) Anyways, does anyone know if this show is ever coming to Broadway or is just hanging out west in Las Vegas? I would love to see it someday... especially with Jason in it!

Jason is very nice I have met him a couple of times here. His wife is nice too. They make a cute couple.
As for the show going to Broadway. Brian May has talked about it, but right now it woudl have to be rewritten for Broadway or a tour.
The show in Las Vegas is geared towards our city. The jokes are based on shows in town. They also do a lot of charity work here with the cast of Mamma Mia! Nice group of performers in both shows, and Celine Dions cast also get involved.
So in answer to your question it is still in the works to go to other cities. But the version here is indefinate and not leaving soon. They are doing good during our slow season. It also attracts people of all ages. When I went the last time a man in his 70s was having a great time clapping and sing along wiht the music of QUEEN.
To the other person Ben Elton said the story was bad and the jokes are what make the show good, plus the music. The cast here is fantastic. All of them are good. When they did a charity concert several sang and danced and it is amazing the talent in WWRY.
Yours,
Carolyn

Posted: 12/21/04 at 3:07pmi agree w/ munk. the meaningless plot stringing together the bad orchestrations of the not-so-good-in-the-first-place songs was unbearable. but this was in london, so... it could've changed... (????)
