Saw it last night & we were very surprised

The movie was a little comedy which we did not expect much of as a musical. It was very good. We liked it much more than Chaperone. The score was very good ( much better than expected) & the choreography was very good. Everyone was in it & it was really very entertaining

We sat in seats ( 4 rows from the back upstairs that normally go for $ 110 which is unbelieveable in itself)& saw fine. To our surprise, we saw very good & were quite pleased. The price from TDF (2 for $ 69.50) could not be beat. Today I will pick up Inishmore as I got an offering in the mail . I will spend $ 20 more than TDF wants per seat to be able to pick our seats

So far, 3 of the 4 best musical nominess will be (IMO)Jersey Boys, Chaperone & Wedding Singer. See Lestat on Mothers Day but will probably not see Color Purple & Tarzan until after the Tonys

In any other year, this might have a decent show to get the Tony for best musical. Unfortunately it seems the Jersey Boys juggernaut may be unstoppable. They have a shot at Tonys in acting catagories, score, choreography & technical ones

A quality show is one that has magnets & decent T shirts

This one scores on both counts.

We sat in seats

Now that's a shame.

Mr Roxy,

we were there last night too courtesy of TDF and got row R in the mezz.. while they weren't that bad at ALL, they coulda been a little kinder, considering there were scattered empty seats closer.

As for the show, it has the potential to be a GREAT show, but they need to cut the act two opener, and the second act song "Single." Laura Benanti is, in a word, miscast. I've LOVED her everywhere else, and her voice is in fine form, its just not the role for her. Felicia and Amy are great, and I LOVED the score.. It needs to stop trying to be Hairspray, but it is a good show and a ton of fun!
