OK, so the tickets went on sale 5 minutes ago (to American Express cardholders).
I checked for May 27. No tickets available for center orchestra unless I want to pay 251.00 for Premium seats!

I should have said 2 seats together. I was able to get a single ticket 8th Row Center.
But more griping, sorry:
New charges: 4.00 to mail a ticket
2.50 to e-mail a ticket
2.50 to pick up the tickets at the box office
Total Cost: 111.00 plus service charges, handling fee and mailing = 121.75

That's obscene, Steve2!
I'm currently trying to buy tickets for the Seattle preview in a couple of weeks and I was already griping at $7 additional fees! (What sort of "Convenience Charge" is TM providing me to warrant me paying it? I still have to pay the "Convenience Charge" if I buy right from the BO!)

I don't know if you are a football fan or not Type_A_Tiff but many people have tickets for sale at www.craigslist.com in Seattle on February 5th. I guess they would rather watch their team in the Superbowl than see a show.

I'm Canadian, so football is foreign to me...hockey however....
Is the football team the Seahawks? I should drop a line to DayDreamer - he's a fan.
By the way, I just screwed something up. I used the AmEx code so I'd get 15% off my tickets, but accidentally hit the Visa number I stored on my account. It says the order has gone through, but will it be cancelled if I didn't use AmEx? I'm panicking now.

Posted: 1/25/06 at 3:34pmThe only option available for these tickets was American Express....so not sure if it will go through or not. Maybe give them a call so you don't lose the tickets!

Posted: 1/25/06 at 6:07pmDoes anyone think that there will be discounts for the Wedding Singer or do you think it will be a big enough of a hit to not have any. I don't really feel like spending $111.25 a ticket and then find out that they are offering $65 tickets.
#16re: Wedding Singer Ticket Drama
Posted: 1/25/06 at 6:19pmI'm sure there will be discounts at some time. I can't guarantee it, but if you're not willing to spend the money, my advice would be to wait it out.

I think it might be a hit due to the built-in name recognition from the movie. I think people like to see comedies as well. And it's set in the 80's. People seem to have a fondness for the 80's.

Posted: 1/26/06 at 2:14amSo is it a totally original score or are there also '80s hits in there? "Loving homage to '80s hits", as per the website, is ambiguous.

Posted: 1/26/06 at 2:27amHuzzah for living in Seattle! I was hoping to go Super Bowl Sunday when everyone else was home watching the game and getting crazy good $20 student tickets. Alas, I have a show that afternoon, but I'm still planning to student rush it. I love The 5th Avenue. ^.^

Posted: 1/26/06 at 2:39amWait WHAT??? $20 student tickets? Fifth? What seats? Please tell me you're joking or I'll set my hair on fire for having spent $20 in the back corner of the balcony.

At the Fifth Avenue Theatre in Seattle, if you're a student and you go day-of to a performance, you can buy best-available student tickets for $20. A lot of the time you have to specify you're getting student tickets, otherwise they'll charge you full price.
The bit from their website:
"Under 25?
Patrons 25 years old and younger can buy $20 day-of-show tickets in person at the box office for any performance. Discount available only in person at the theatre box office on the day of the performance. Best seats available. Limit one ticket per valid ID."
It's a pretty sweet deal.
