Wedding Singer's future?
re: Wedding Singer's future?#25
Posted: 4/30/07 at 4:48pmThe tour has been cast. They just offered the role of Linda to one of our girls. It's going to be a good cast.

"Rent is always non-equity, yet, I found the tour to be fantastic."
Muscle-You saw it the most recent time it was down here? Are you sure you weren't imagining things? It was deadly. Mimi's voice still kills my ears when I think of it.

DRS is still equity, but I suspect it might be going Non-Equity as it booked a two-night engagement for the Palace Theatre in Waterbury, CT, and I was under the (maybe false) pretention that Equity tours do a minimum of a week at each stop of the tour. Same thing with Mamma Mia, although I have no clue why.

EDIT: It saddens me to think Piazza is going non-equity. It's such a beautiful production, I'd hate to see it get watered down to nothing over money.

Ok SweetQ
yes, the last tour of Rent, wasn't good IMO,
but the one before, in 2005 I think, was very good and it was non-equity as well.

Posted: 4/30/07 at 7:39pmI don't know if anyone said this already but, MTI will be releasing the rights to The Wedding Singer sometime later in the year after the tour. I received a fast-track notice for it the other day.

Oh, I'm sorry; I thought you meant the most recent RENT tour that was down here.

Posted: 4/30/07 at 10:39pmI hate that we get almost nothing but Non-Equity here in Birmingham. It's so lame. At least we get Spamalot.

Wedding Singer in Baltimore, too good to be true. It beats driving 3 1/2 hours to the city to catch it. ITS ABOUT TIME!!

Posted: 5/1/07 at 6:11pm^Haha, and I totally made that drive too much. I don't think all those miles are good for my car...
