Posted: 6/21/05 at 1:33pmI saw Sean McCourt last year cuz Joel Grey was out and I was just thinking about how weird it was. Sean McCourt is a great broadway performer but seeing him and Idina do "Wonderful" was just odd. They look the same age yet he's supposed to be her father. Anthony Galde (the other u/s) seems like he'd suit the part better. Any thoughts? Also has anyone seem any Madame Morrible understudies?

Ummm....
Sean McCourt plays both Elphaba's father AND the Wizard. The Wizard is Elphaba's father....
My point - obviously if he sells himself as Elphaba's father, he should seel himself as the Wizard, based on physical appearances.
Anyway, Sean is my favorite Wizard I've seen.

Posted: 6/21/05 at 2:29pmHe doesn't play Elphaba's father at the beginning. He plays what he thinks is her father but really Elphaba is the product of her mother and a man she has an affair with. Plus, it's a long time ago so he's younger.
