Ugg, my dad would not listen to Rent if my life depended on it (maybe if HIS life depended on it though...) He is a major biggot. He hates all people who are not straight, white, rich, male, "Born-Again" Christians. I can't really complain though, because my mom is amazing, and loves all the same things I do- somehow I wonder why they ever got married, politically they are complete opposites, not to mention one is amazing and sweet and cool, and the other is... eh, I can't even stand being near him.
Okay, I didn't mean for that to be a rant about my issues with my dad, but that's what it turned into so I guess I'll keep it. Feel free to ignore!
both my parents hate Rent with a passion. And Aida, and basically any Broadway at all. So it's amazing to believe I'm their kid, well i'm not THEIR kid im' adopted but don't you get some personality from living it?

My whole family likes theater, but I am probably the most dedicated (read: obsessed). My mom won't go looking for new things on her own, but she likes all the stuff I've introduced her to. My dad only like Andrew Lloyde Webber, which I LOVE, but I also like shows with more substance, like Rent. The problem is, what I see as "substance" he sees as "crap".

Hello, all... I'm a long-time lurker of this board(actually, I've been around since the very first page). I've been mean to post and introduce myself, but I never really got up with courage, or motive, to do so, until now. Hopefully, I'll be able to hold a conversation with you guys, because when it comes of message boards and stuff, I'd rather watch... err.. read the conversation, and not say too much. But I'll try and jump in every once and a while... like now.
I just got Anthony's book on Wednesday. I'm only halfway through, but I'm suspecting I'll have it done by the end of this weekend. And about being emotional through it- when I was reading about Jonathan's death, I REALLY wanted to cry. But I'm one of those people that just can't get emotional. I only tear up a little, but I don't go into hysterics. I kinda wish I could be that emotional sometimes, but other times, I'm glad I can keep it together.
And as for going to a book signing... I regret living in Northwestern PA, which seems to be in the middle of nowhere right now. BUT, I've been working on convincing my mom to take me to the signing in Virgina at Hollins University(which, I'm hoping is open to the public). She's gonna look into it, but it's still rather doubtful. I'm really hoping that I can go, but the odds are against me, unfortunately.

Oh... Power Rangers. I was thinking those Animorph kids or whatever they're called. I never watched Power Rangers... Though, I did have some little clip on earrings that were Power Ranger when I was little. I wonder what happened to those.
edit: I'm just going by the AOL sessions video. "Albino Pumpkin Head"... Only because I'm uncreative.

I remember in Elementary, during recess, everyone wanted to play Red Rover. You see, my school was waaay out in the country, and there was a big hill, and forest behind the school. So, lots of space with a soft ground=perfect spot for Red Rover. I didn't join often, though. I disliked that game greatly.
I've pretty much given up on watching TV. Nothing intrests me anymore. From what I have watched, though, Nick and Disney Channel have gone down the tubes. It's rather disappointing... It's like they can't come up with any more decent material. Plus, most kids are taking a liking to MTV, and whatnot. It's just depressing.

I think they banned Red Rover at our school once. Like you said, people were getting freaked out about kids getting hurt. They also banned Crayola crayons for a few weeks... Something about them being toxic to kids. I don't remember.
And I have no idea what the Box is...

PowerRanger!Anthony is ruler of the world. :) Or something like that.
Silence = Death, I'm having the same problem. My mom said she'd try calling to find out some info tomorrow or Monday... So I'll make sure to tell you as soon as I find out.

See, that's why I didn't play Red Rover. I'm rather attached to my limbs. (Bad pun...)
You actually found a time? I couldn't even find that! Sheesh, I'm not that intelligent. *dramatic pose* We shall defeat the man! HELL YEAH!

"But...I miss how the little things could make you happy, you know? People expect more now. Things like dolls not being enough anymore, but now they have to talk. Or Nintendo's simple graphics aren't good enough, they have to look completely realistic. I remember when someone having a TV in there car was SO cool, and now it's pretty normal. Having a cell phone was a big deal, but now it's okay to talk on them all the time. And people just seem to get stupider, ruder, and trashier with each passing year, especially celebrities."
Amen. AMEN.
