This might be a stupid question, but when I look at West End performers they seem to have many more credits than Broadway performers even though shows seemingly run forever in the West End. Is there a reason for this? Do people do shorter runs in shows than they do over here? Or is this something I'm making up in my head?
I believe west end shows, in general, have high turnover. When they have cast changes it’s not just for principals but for the whole cast at times. So ensemble dancers on the west end are always moving from one show to the next. Whereas, in the U.S. and on broadway chorus contracts make it easier for folks to stay with one show for longer periods of time.
