Hi, I was wondering if someone could tell me when exactly Maria sings the high in the Tonight quintet? I don't mean to sound confusing, but I'm not very farmiliar with WSS and I don't know if this is when everyone sings or what? Thanks!

It's the very last note... when everyone and Maria sings "Oh moon, grow bright, and make this endless day endless night, tonight." That last "tonight" right there.
Thank you very much!
And this is when the whole ensemble does Tonight?

Yup, during the "Quintet."

However it can also be Tony's high C (if he can hit it).
Thanks very much. Does anyone know where I can download the sheet music for the quintet? Or if somebody has it, I would be happy to trade some other music and scan it. Please just message me. Thanks!
Yeah, IF the actor playing Tony can hit it. Most actors playing Tony just sing the G.
lol yeah Tony is one of those roles you can get by on with a very solid high G.
Love it when they take the option to hit the high B in Maria, though.

I can't speak for tenors, but "night" is a very annoying syllable to hit a C6 on. It has a tendency to go airy, you have to really get it in the forehead. Plus it's hard to articulate the "t" afterwards.

Hmmmm most girls I know looove an Ah vowel that high. It's certainly easier than an E. Also I know a lot of musical directors have Tony sing the G because 1)A C is a lot and 2) If Tony doesn't sing the G there'd only be an open fifth at the end. That's not very fulfilling.

The problem with "Ah" is that it tends to spread.
