If you're talking about showtunes I got sick to death of hearing during the years, the only one I can safely say is "Tomorrow" from ANNIE, Probably the most overused showtune of the late 70s and early 80s.

Praying Decca Broadway will put "Don't Bother Me, I Can't Cope" on CD!

Seasons of Love IS overplayed. And it gets really irritating when you have people yell at you that the numbers song is the best song in Rent. Yes that has happened to me quite a few times lately.

And I'm getting a little sick of Defying Gravity also.

Memory (Cats)
Think of Me (Phantom of the Opera)

"I haven't got a pail." "Find your grail, your GRAIL!" "But it's not missing. It's right on the counter where it's supposed to- defying gravity, my giant cup's gone!" "Five hundred, twenty-five thousand, six hundred minutes. How do you measure... measure a year?" "How many times do I have to tell you, it's five hundred twenty-five thousand, five hundred and eighty-five point thirty-two minutes. You will never graduate if you keep basing your math on showtunes." "You ruin Broadway for me." "As well I should."

You know, there was a period in the early 90s when every cabaret singer was singing "Why, God, Why?" from MISS SAIGON and "Love Can Happen" from Grand Hotel.

Praying Decca Broadway will put "Don't Bother Me, I Can't Cope" on CD!

As a director who does a lot of musical theater, I suppose I have more chance than most people do to get tired of showtunes.

But, if I could pick the five songs I would never have to hear in an audtion again, they would be...

1. Mr. Cellophane
2. The Life of The Party (especially if you are, say 16 years old)
3. Seasons of Love
4. Stars
5. Take Back Your Mink (again, especially if you are 16 years old)

As much as I love Rent, I'm getting a little sick of Seasons of love. It's overplayed way too much. I'm also getting a little sick of any song from Wicked
