Just got back from the show, and my faith in "B & B" has been restored !!! Finally, Disney has cast someone as Belle that belongs !!! Someone that can both act and sing ! Its true what others have said... Brooke Tansley IS Belle !!! We have seen the show around 10 times, and she is the best yet. Absolutely gorgeous, and the voice of an angel. Her "A Change in Me" was incredible. She plays the role with just the right amount of innocence that it needs. We will definitely be going back to see Brooke in this role a few more times before she leaves.
BRAVO Brooke !!!
I have to see it!
I am serious... she brings amazing new life to the show. I cant wait to see her again !!!
Can really see Brooke eventually playing Glinda too !!

Awww, I'm so happy for her. I've seen B&B on tour, but stayed far away from the show on B-way because of Christy Carlson-Romano's voice. Ugh. Anyway, good for Brooke. I saw her as Penny in Hairspray and while she wasn't ny favorite Penny, she was adorable and very, very sweet. I just may have to see this !

I'm so glad you loved her! Everything you said is true
I can't wait to see her gain. Infact I aleady have tickets to a few more shows I can't wait. Did you wait at the stage door and see how she treats all he little kids? It's amazing to watch. She gives them all kisses and talks to them all. How special must that be for them? I would remember it for my whole life. Last Friday, there was a little girl dresed as Belle, the last one there and Brooke picked her up and said she was taking her home with her and was talking to her and such. Just adorable.
Brooke's "A Change In Me" is wonderful. Her everything is wonderful. Go see her again ovr an over so she can stay! Bring all our friends! Brooke is Belle

I really wondered how well she would do. I am so glad that she's become a hit!!
I thought that she was very good.. not perfect.. my review from last night is in a seperate thread.
I just thought everything about Brooke was perfect. Her facial expressions were great, and the she way she came across as a child totally enthralled during "Be Our Guest" was great !!
I do have to add something that has nothing to do with the performances.. (was too tired to type last night)
Memo to parents:
This is NOT a 20-minute show on the Cartoon Network !!! This is a 2.5 hour Broadway show !! There is a 99.9 % chance that your
4-6 year old child is NOT going to be able to pay attention throughout the entire show. Once they stop paying attention, they are going to annoy many of the other paying patrons that just might have shelled out $100 per ticket !!! I dont need to know in the middle of a song that your child needs "to use the potty" !!
I could not believe how many toddlers there were in the audience !!! Okay, ending rant now.... Anyway...
GO SEE BROOKE !!!
Nice review for Brooke Tansley and Steve Blanchard in the Poughkeepsie paper.

I'm sorry you never got a chance to see Jennifer Hope Wills as Belle. She was Carlson-Romano's understudy and was a fantastic Belle, but only got to play the part a few times.
She is now playing Eileen in Wonderful Town.
About the little girls at the stage door...
It must be a dream come true for them to meet a "Disney princess". What Brooke is doing at the stage door is sounds so nice.

Yeah, Jennifer Hope Wills was terrific as Belle.
I saw "Beauty..." in June during Christy Romano's vacation-- not on purpose, mind you; but I'm not exactly upset that I missed her-- and saw Michelle Malardi as Belle. She was, erm, not so good. I don't know if she had been doing the show all week in Christy's stead and wasn't used to it or if she was having an off night, but she was pretty darn bad. I had already seen the tour, but I was disappointed that my mom's one and only Belle sounded like Marlon Brando.
As for Brooke, I'm not familiar with her work, but I've gotten a little misty reading some of the interviews with her. She's a Disney girl just like me-- and for any fanatic, her current gig is a dream come true. I wish that I could make it back to see her or at least find a few clips, but alas. I hope she continues to do well.
