Well...About Lea: I have not heard from her since "Les Mis- London Anniversary Concert" as Eponine and a brief role in the tv serie "ER"...She's a good actress too, maybe her vocal range is grow up with the age
...Anyway another good choice for Elphie is Sherie Renè Scott for me...Her voice is powerful and amazing (I don't know her acting...I never saw her, unfurtunatelly!)
And about a new Fyero, a new Wizard of Oz, a new Morrible and Nessa??
Adam Garcia as Fyero will be nice!!...maybe he's not a big singer as Robert Leo Butz, but as actor and look is perfect...
Also Adam Pascal

sherie as elphie is a good choice. many have suggested her already. also sherie and idina both did amneris... and maybe i'm mistaken both did maureen, so we know they both have the same kind of vocal quality.

Adam Garcia was in the first readings for Wicked as Fiyero. I would love to see him have a chance at the role. I was OBSSESSED with him after I saw Coyote Ugly and immediately bought the Saturday Night Fever cast recording and rented his Australian tap dance movie, "Bootmen." He's really a great performer and I would love to see him get his Broadway debut!

I disagree with most of your Elphaba/Glinda choices. Sherie is one of my favs but she's as long in the tooth as Alice is. And no, I have no problem with mature seasoned actresses playing younger but NOT if they can't pull it off in the looks department. Cheno is under 4'11, it helps to be THAT short, when you're 35+.

Al Dente is right. I love Sherie, but there is no way she could read under 25 on stage. Same with Alice. Filling Kristin's shoes can totally be accomplished... They just might have give a NEW talent a chance at the role!

I think Laura Bell Bundy is the obvious and right choice to take over the role. She's the right age, she's absurdly gorgeous and she can sing and act the part.
And she's already off book :)

JohnP-
Have you SEEN Laura B.B. in the role? She may be off book, but that was about it! Singing was very weak, and the acting could not have been more generic. If Kristin HAS to leave (i admit, I am one of those who will miss her), I would much rather see Melissa Bell Chait (the understudy) take over. I got to see her go on (her first show, I think) and she was fantastic. Obviously had room to grow in the role, but with a few more performances and some rehearsal, you could see that she could be really excellent. Why not try something new and actually promote someone from the ensemble like in the old days!
By the way, does anyone know if she is back in the show after suffering from her stroke last month?
