she never said she was completely against seeing plays but she's only in ny for a short time and if in the past she has found that she prefered musicals then i dont see that as a problem.
I mean personally I love plays but sometimes that's just not what you're looking for.

I guess I just don't see the point in passing up the opportunity to see something as special and rare as "August" to see something like "Wicked," that will play New York for the next 472 years.
Maybe that makes me closed minded, but I just don't get it.

Ok, I (I'm a boy) will only see Wicked if I win the the lotto and since i will be in NYC for a short time I would like to see musicals or if there is a good priced play than I will go to that.
I would like to see a chorus line. Does it have lotto?
I have seen...
Sweeney (good)
Rent (Really Good)
Hairspray (Good)
Young Frankenstein (Good)
POTO (LOOOOONG but ok.)
South Pacific (Loved every minute of it)
Passing Strange (Not a big rock fan but it was still a good show.)
Cry Baby (Liked It)
In The Heights (Favorite show on Broadway right now!)

sorry about the gender thing, i wasnt even thinking about who posted it just out of habbit.
Actr, I don't dissagree with you at all, i just don't know if closed-minded is neccesarily the right way to describe it.
Okay given what you told me, you might like spring awakening a lot. I mean, I can't stand all of the hype for it, but it's still a good show. Maybe you would enjoy something off broadway. (Altar Boyz is really cute) I actually never really considered seeing off broadway shows before then I saw In the heights at 37 arts (because my friend was an usher there, because robin de jesus was in it, and because friends who had seen it loved it) and that totally changed my view.

I'm taking my 13 year old nephew I don't know if SA would be ok for him, or August for that matter. He has seen all the shows i have seen, he is pretty mature. But I still don't know about SA. I was thinking November but that seems to be really inappropriate too.
Thoughts?

while spring awakening isnt neccesarily innapropriate for a mature 13 year old, he may feel a little uncomfortable but then again i dont know him or you or your relationship so it's hard for me to judge. Xanadu might be a better choice.

I think SA is appropriate for 13 year olds. I don't get this wanting to shield teenagers. It's a show *about* being a teenager, and the score and cast is young and fresh. Its fanbase seems to be in that 13-18 age range. Sure, it has some nudity, and sexual content, but it's nothing a mature 13 year old can't handle. These are some of the things they're going through, after all.
Xanadu is also a good choice.
November is a very adult oriented show. It's fun, it's amusing, but it's aimed at an older crowd. Lots of political jokes, very old-timey, nothing particularly memorable. Enjoyable, but not a "must see".

Aside from your 13 year nephew bragging to his friends about how he saw a girls breasts on stage,
I wouldn't suggest taking him to spring awakening..

When ACL had lottery it was front row for 25 dollars, if I remember correctly.
Now it's $35 for random seats that are usually partial view. Sometimes you'll luck out and get full view seats (one night I got 5th row center) but yeah.. luck of the draw.
