What Male Broadway Star Would You Like To Hear Sing A Song Made Famous By A Woman?

Hi. This was the only original question I could think of on short notice. Anyway, I have some favorite Broadway diva songs: "Memory", "Don't Cry For Me Argentina", "As If We Never Said Goodbye", to name a few. Has there ever been a show/concert where male singers perform those beloved Broadway standards? I personally would love to hear John Barrowman sing "As If We Never Said Goodbye" (from "Sunset Boulevard"). I would buy such a recording. Any thoughts? I second Bea Arthur!

Euan Morton sang "As Long As He Needs Me" at one of his concerts. And Marty Thomas always sings "Defying Gravity" in the original key.

Norm Lewis "Memory" --- I heard he did it. I would love to hear it. I can't think of anyone with a better voice than that man.

Amen to that!

Broadway leading men dont get their solo albums as frequently as the divas and also rans. This is one actor I would kill to have a solid broadway album. His tone is so rich and vibrant.

This is kind of backwards but Linda Eder's cd Broadway My Way, is almost entirely songs traditionally sung by men, and it is fabulous.

It is a nice pipe dream to imagine what it would be like to hear Bea Arthur (one of my favorite male singers) sing Bosom Buddies from Mame. If only there were some way to make that happen. Oh well. While we're dreaming, I'd also like to hear Lucille Ball's skeleton sing "It's Today!"

Michael Crawford also recorded "Memory" 15 years ago, and the version is... umm... interesting... The same cd includes "Wishing You Were..." and "Tell Me On A Sunday".
