Posted: 8/27/06 at 11:05amrenthead333 I think the trend is getting out of control. Mediocre movies like "The Wedding Singer", "Legally Blonde" and others are being turned into musicals. "Saturday Night Fever" was a classic film of the 70's. "Hairspray" was a cult film. These newer films are neither. They are formulatic junk.

I'm sure I read somewhere that Moonstruck was being turned into a musical already. If you search I'm sure you can find the details. I'm too lazy to do it, so I'll just give this heads up.
I tend to think that any small character driven film would work, maybe something like Transamerica.
