I agree that original shows should have first priority on Broadway.
But with that being said, I would love to see "A Star Is Born" on stage. This would be of the Judy Garland version, OF COURSE.

"Light in the Piazza" was a book published in 1960 and written by Elizabeth Spencer before it was a movie so it does not count.

Halloween (any and all chapters starting with "Season of the Witch" where the masks explode. That would make a great musical number)
All of the above would "star" a game show contestant and maybe a so-called "singer" like one of the Simpson sisters or Paris or William Hung (he covers both categories as he was a "singer" famous for being rejected by a game show).

"Heaven Can Wait (the 1978 version)and "Working Girl". I'd also say "Moonstruck" but they'd never be able to come close to the film.

jimnysf, some of your favorite shows include Hairspray and Saturday Night Fever which were both movies. I honestly don't think turning movies into musicals is a bad idea! Because some of them turn out very good and some movie plots make excellent musicals.
