Just for fun - if we were to bury a Broadway time capsule TODAY*, to be opened in 100 years, what would you put in it?
I'll start by putting in Sutton Foster's Sardi's caricature and the closing notice for The Story of My Life.
*Please try and put something in the capsule that is at least somewhat relevant to Broadway in the year 2009. Yes, I know this is a lackluster season made all the worse by an economy that's in the toilet, but you work with the Broadway you have, not the Broadway you wish you had.

...and it turns sour.
Quicker than I expected, I must say.

I really wouldn't want to put any shows or performers in a Broadway time capsule, because only great things would be worth putting in there, and if I put them into a time capsule, they wouldn't be around to enjoy anymore right now.

a recording of Patti LuPone Gypsy, whether it be the filmed version or the cd.

Full copies of all orchestra parts for currently running shows. That way when the future version of Encores is trying to mount shows they won't have to deal with trying to recreate orchestra parts based on notes, recordings, and people's memories.

Good one! But I might also add the videos of those shows which closed before their time, like ATOTC.
Well, in keeping with the subject, James Barbour's Broadway in Concert Cd.
Oliver Platt. Well, more to make sure he is in the capsule, as opposed to at the Nederlander each night butchering the role of Nathan Detroit, but whatever works. But on a serious note, probably each and every Lincoln Center recording so that they could live on forever. If I had to choose one I would go with what I saw today - Side Show, the perfect example that a great show with a stupendous cast, beautiful costumes, tight book, and beautiful score, can still close way before its time. I was lucky enough to be shown Not Since Carrie today (it's still on my wish list) by someone from the board and I would without a doubt include this as well, as it's basically the manual of what not to do.

^^^ BEST IDEA FOR THE TIME CAPSULE.
Depending on how long the capsule is to be sealed, how about placing Dollypop in there, along with Sutton Foster's "Shrek" farts?
What a sad, pathetic little asshole he is.
