I am a 9th grader and I obviously have a student ID. But is there an age restriction on what age can do student rush. Also, can you get 2 tickets with student rush, my dad usually comes with me to shows so would he be able to get a ticket with the student rush too?
Usually it’s not an age thing (though some can be). So long as you have a valid picture ID showing that you are a student, they don’t have an issue.
Depending on the show, you can buy 1 or 2, but some might have age restrictions on the age of the person you bring (though I can’t think of any shows currently).
I used to use my student ID for rushes all the time back when I was in High School. Some theatres will say you have to have a "valid college or university ID" but I think they just say that because they assume high schoolers don't be doing rushes as much as college students. I never had a problem with my high school ID.
As for your second question, it depends on the show. What shows are you looking to get tickets for? Some shows limit the rush to 1 ticket per ID, while some let you get two. If they allow you to get 2 tickets per Student ID, then your dad can use one (but it's probably better if he's not with you when you buy them, so it isn't as obvious that you're buying it for someone who isn't a student).
But honestly, most rush tickets for Broadway shows these days are general rushes, meaning anybody can participate. Student rush tickets are now most commonly seen Off-Broadway.
