1. West Side Story-This was the musical that truly turned me on to Broadway... Everything about it just astounded me, from its choreography to the infamous rumble, West Side Story was perfect... I spent a year utterly obbsessed with it, would go crazy whenever I heard someone even MENTION WSS, and examined the show from all angles and all characters... A true classic in my eyes...
2. Little Women-a more sentimental favorite, as I relate the characters to my friends and I... And Jo's desire to keep everything the same..
3. Ragtime-Just a genius show... Everyone on here already knows how amazing it is, so I won't reiterate...
5. Light in the Piazza-I again fell in love with the show because it was something I could intellectually examine, an wrote a psychology paper on it... LOVE it. Plus, it has Italian in it...
6. Into the Woods-See above, I was shocked by how philosophical this show is and, AGAIN wrote a paper on it... I was floored by how much there was to the show-Really, Sondheim is just a genius.
7. RENT-I love the more modern themes and again can relate to the characters, so the show is more meaningful... I'm a struggling filmmaker hoping to cling on to the present while it's still here, so Mark rang true to me... Plus, my uncle died of AIDS, so the theme of "No Day But Today" was beautiful in my eyes-as that is how he lived... I know the show isn't perfect ,but I still feel as though Jonathon Larson truly made a "One Song Glory"
8. Last 5 Years
9. Fiddler
10. Guys and Dolls/You're a Good Man Charlie Brown
