The only one I know of is Gregory Maguire and his author's review in the lining of the "Wicked" CD. Admittedly other CDs have authors reviews, but I don't have them, so I wouldn't know.
For example, what did E.L. Doctorow think of the musical adaption of "Ragtime"? and what did various other authors think of their book being adapted into a musical?

Posted: 5/30/05 at 2:52amE.L. Doctorow was probably upset that all the sex from his novel was cut from the musical. chapter 11 for example in which mother's younger brother gets caught touching himself while spying on Evelyn Nesbit is, in the musical, butchered and reduced to one line: "masturbates for a vaudeville tart"... but if they had included all of the sexual crap and the whole thing with Emma having an unhealthy obsession with Tateh's daughter the musical would have lost its somewhat "family friendly" appeal... and at the same time I'm sure he didn't mind that lovely paycheck...
