What ensemble would you want to be in?

I think the most fun ensemble I could ever wish to be in on a Broadway stage would be THE WEDDING SINGER. It's just got such fantastic dancing, and it seems like it would be a hoot to be in. I say this after having watched the video from the Tony Awards a couple dozen times. What ensemble would you want to be in? What others would you care to dance in?

I'd even go so far as to say MARY POPPINS, WICKED, and HAIRSPRAY have some of the most fun-looking dance numbers I've seen. :)

42nd Street if it was still on Broadway. But since it's not probably RENT or Hairspray.

Rent, everybody gets an okay part in that. People can pick you out instead of Wicked for example everybody is kind of doing the same thing except for the few that have the one line solos

The Wedding Singer. I love the choreography, and it just looks like so much fun.

I would have loved to be in "The Boy From Oz" particularly the Continental American number. Sexy cast of men (Hugh, et. al.), incredible women: Stephanie, Isabelle and Beth, and lot of time off when Hugh wasn't there.

Well "The Extraordinary Crimes of Mack The Knife" from Threepenny Opera brilliantly highlighted the ensemble and all of the solos gave me chills because the ensemble was awesome.. So, that, if it were still open.
And, let's say La Cage Aux Folles..if I were a dancer (or a guy :P).

And the other thing about the Phantom Lady was, Bert, she realized, in the city that never sleeps... What did she realize, Kitten? That all the songs she'd listened to, all the love songs, that they were only songs. What's wrong with that? Nothing, if you don't believe in them. But she did, you see. She believed in enchanted evenings, and she believed that a small cloud passed overhead and cried down on a flower bed, and she even believed there was breakfast to be had... Where? On Pluto. The mysterious, icy wastes of Pluto.

The Wedding Singer, definatly. Sweet Charity would be fun too. So would All Shook Up, but I doubt we'll ever see that on Broadway again.

Hairspray for sure. I'd love it. I mean come on, they have such great production numbers like "Good Morning Balitmore" or "Nicest Kids In Town" or "You Can't Stop The Beat" in which the ensemble has huge chunks of it. I'd love to be in their ensemble, preferbly as either Fender or IQ, but I wouldnt care- just being in HAIRSPRAY would be amazing.

Wicked for sure, as well. I mean they have some huge ensemble numbers like "Dear Old Shiz" and the beginning of "Thank Goodness" and of course "No One Mourns The Wicked" in which the ensemble guides the songs to the next story point or production number. I'd die to be in either one, but probably more so HAIRSPRAY because SO many people have come out of the ensemble their (Jenn Gambatese, Shoshana Bean, Adam Fleming... etc) to do great things.

Haha, my first two choices were mentioned in the first two posts: Wedding Singer and Hairspray! I'd also like to be in 42nd Street, Thoroughly Modern Millie, All Shook Up, and that's all I could think of now. I know all those shows closed, though. re: What ensemble would you want to be in?

re: What ensemble would you want to be in?

Oh my gosh. I totally forgot ALL SHOOK UP (what a dumb dumb I am) of course, I'd die also to be in ALL SHOOK UP's ensemble, they had so many amazing numbers like "C'mon Everybody" and "JailHouse Rock" in which they showed off alot of their character in which they couldnt due to no lines of speaking or just not enough to do. So either HAIRSPRAY or ALL SHOOK UP or WICKED for me.

(thanks millie dillmont for reminding me of my obession)

Loved that show! Great energy. I'm gonna try to see the show a couple of times on tour!

The Drowsy Chaperone. That show seems like so much fun.

Sweeney Todd. Most likely incredibly hard, but such an awesome show.

Rent. As someone, you have an actual role, and everyone gets a litttle solo moment.
I am a firm believer in serendipity- all the random pieces coming together in one wonderful moment, when suddenly you see what their purpose was all along.

If I could tap dance and look fabulous in the dresses they wear, I would want to be in the ensemble of Crazy For You.

also DRS of course!

and maybe Les Mis.

re: What ensemble would you want to be in?

Hairspray! Or Wedding Singer.

And, it isn't on broadway (yet...), but I would LOVE to be in the ensemble of But I'm a Cheerleader... because there really isn't one. Everyone in that show gets to play actual parts.
l love you without knowing how... or when... or from where.
I love you straightforwardly, without complexities or pride.
I love you because I know no other way than this.
