I don't see how XANADU could possibly split PS and ITH's votes...PS and ITH are completely polar opposite shows. ITH will win, however, because it's got a great mixture of what the other nominees all have separately.

It's fun and highly entertaining (XANADU), it's really original (PASSING STRANGE), and it's got a bit of old-fashioned sensibility mixed with contemporary touches (CRY-BABY). Some achieve the above connotations more successfully than others, but ITH has all of them.

It's going to win...XANADU is going to have to do way more than pull out a smart, witty ad campaign to take home the Tony for Best Musical (although I'd much rather see it win than PASSING STRANGE).

On Playbill.com, they did a survey, "who do you want to win Best Musical". "Xanadu" won over "In the Heights" by about 10%.
