I'm just wondering..I don't know the differences between certain theatrical terms for how house seats are..so could someone tell me what "prosecenium" seating is? Thanks :)

It's like a modern day stage.
Hairspray and Avenue Q- Proscenium
Spelling Bee is not
Oops! So the Proscenium part refers to the stage? My bad lol. Alrighty, thanks :)
It's the "normal" seating configuration for a theater. Where you have a procenium stage and seats are aligned, facing directly toward the stage. Other seating configurations are Thrust and Stadium. Thrust (where the stage comes out into the seating, might have seats on both side of the stage, while Stadium would have some seats behind and in front of the stage. Not sure I explained it very well.

Yup!
This is a thrust stage (Like spelling Bee)
This is a Proscenium stage
I think there are other kinds too like "full arena"- a.k.a. theatre in the round, amphitheater...
Thanks both of yoU :)
Most of you are very close minded, proscenium seating is neither 'modern day' or 'normal' seating. Typically on Broadway, shows are in proscenium theatres but in the 'real world' of theatre there are countless forms of seating configurations (thrust, in the round, avenue, etc.). Various performances spaces, especially studio theatres, use different arrangements.
Which is why I put "normal", in quotation marks. And, even if I hadn't, I'm perplexed how the use of the word has any bearing on close-mindedness.
