Posted: 9/8/04 at 9:49pmDidn't you say in an earlier thread that you were a regional theater producer? And you don't know what a dresser is?

Posted: 9/8/04 at 9:56pmWell, we are not being nasty, but when a 16 year-old student knows a lot more than a producer, we have problems.

Posted: 9/8/04 at 9:56pmSorry, if we're "hard" but what kind of "regional producer" -- i.e. the guy that pays the actors -- doesn't know what actors make?

Posted: 9/8/04 at 10:00pmBelieve it or not I am actually an non working equity actor (it has been a while) the theatre I produce is not equity so I am not up on the latest.
re: What is a dresser?#15
Posted: 9/8/04 at 10:00pmWell, you should probably do at least a little studying before you spend thousands of dollars producing a show.

You should also study before being a regional producer.
Not being mean or anything, but these things are pretty basic.
Now go research what a dresser does and get back to us.

Equity actor? So I take it you missed that whole strike thing-y that almost happened a couple of months ago?
I have friends who have nothing to do with show business and have never read a theatre board in their lives who can quote the Equity minimum of the top of their head because the strike details were in the newspaper every single day for a month.
Equity actor? And you don't know the minimums? Or what a dresser is (how did you get an Equity card)? Or what the Theatre Development Fund is? And you're a PRODUCER, TOO?????
LOL

I know, I know, it's way too easy, ..... but there's something fun about exposing someone who's just a bald-faced liar. I'm done now

*points and laughs, then feels sorry and gives Matt a hug*
But darling, if you're going to post this stuff on a Broadway thread, and claim you're a producer, you should know what you're talking about.

Please do not make fun of him cause he doesnt know what a dresser is
I had an executive producer not know what an orchestra pit or a fly system was and thought that you used phone cable for sound systems
He was so stupid

I'll make fun of both of them! Please!
If you don't have an interdisciplinary view of the theatre--get out!
