Just wondered-is there a huge difference and is it worth paying extra?
I believe VIP standing room is the area closest to the stage. Priority standing room is the next section and regular standing room is behind priority.
If you click on the order online tab, there is a button that says "more information". That gives more detail for each price tier.
Unless they're changing it up this year, in the past years I've gone to Bares the area right next to/surrounding the stage has always been general admission. There were usually two VIP standing rooms - one that's to the side (and raised) of the general admission that surrounds the stage, and the other in the mezz. Considering that people with general admission tickets start lining up hours beforehand to be close to the stage, if I had the money to spend I would totally do the VIP standing room just to not be in the mad crush of the general admission floor.
There is VIP, Priority and General Admission Standing Areas. VIP is 275, Priority is 125 and General is $60. Just curious as to the difference.
BUMP-Is there a huge difference between general admission and priority standing? Is it worth the extra 65 bucks?
Bettyboy, I purchased priority tickets last year and this year and it means less people in front of you. Definitely worth the extra $65. Part of the purchase is tax deductible.
One of the big advantages to the priority standing room is that you don't have to wait in line for as long. You can't wait until too close to starting time or you won't be able to get to the priority area, but you can get there 20 minutes ahead of time and be pretty close in the priority area rather than waiting for several hours to get that close for general standing room.
The difference between the priority and regular admission is tax-deductible. And it's all for a good cause!

What time does the midnight show usually start & end? Is there usually an intermission?

Bares is roughly 90 minutes. Count on the midnight show to start late and they herd the audience out as soon as the 9:30 ends, whereas midnight, people generally wander out..
The explanations here are fairly accurate and basic. $60 general admission on the main floor, you can be up against the stage or in the back (short people, get there early!) depending on where you place yourself..
The downstairs VIP standing room is against the side wall, stage right and it is literally just a raised platform, but you ARE away from the stage.. Upstairs VIP is to the side on stage right and, as said, you are on a raised platform that is on top of the Roseland Upstairs, so you really are sort of "in the rafters"..
Either way, dress for heat. It gets HOT in there.
