Am I the ONLY one who LOVES I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change!?!? that is the best revue, in my opinion!! After that, Songs for a New World, and in third place Forever Plaid =D
I had a cassette tape of Beehive a while ago which doesn't work anymore. About the CD, I'll check Footlight and Colony. Did you ever hear of the revue "Stop in the Name of Love" starring the fabulous Singlettes? It ran in London and Australia for many years off and on around the time of Beehive- it was really cute. The girls had great voices. I wonder what happened to them?!
Theatreguy, my reference to Ain't Misbehavin being a big show was in terms of it's band size , nine. I prefer my revues intimate when it comes to accompaniment. Like just piano, or piano , bass and drums.
I really love CLOSER THAN EVER! It is probably one of my favorite reviews. I also enjoyed IT'S A GRAND NIGHT FOR SINGING - what can I say? Who doesn't know all of those old Rogers and Hammerstein songs? That's a great CD to sing loudly to in the car on long drives. :)
