What kind of a name is Christmas Eve???????????
#0What kind of a name is Christmas Eve???????????
Posted: 2/4/05 at 3:55pmI haven't gotten the joke(and I'm sure there is one) behind this name. I mean given the nature of the show, the could have given her a very streotypical last name like Wong or Chin(even though those are Chinese names not Japanese). What's behind the name?

cats, it took me a solid 30 seconds to catch the jessica simpson reference....I thought in some roundabout way you were trying to explain the name christmas eve.

i don't recall exactly, does she end up pregnant or giving birth? or was that the actress and not the character?
i thought if she were a literal mother (or maybe even a figurative "earth mother" type), then the names would have references to the Madonna (Christmas) and the first mother (Eve).
Does the character talk about her name at one point, though?

the actress was pregnant, and the character never discusses her name.

Oh, gosh, I wish I could explain this... The first time I heard that there was a Q character named "Christmas Eve," I thought, "Oh, that's perfect!" To my mind, it's a very subtle "Sesame Street" thing, like the cute little blonde SS Muppet girl being named "Prairie Dawn" (and I swear there are some other minor Sesame characters with similar names - a phrase that's not really a name, but suddenly makes sense as a name). It's how you hear a name and it instantly strikes you as Dickensian, or Seussian, or... That's the best explanation I can give.
Oh, and yes, it was Ann Harada, the actress, who had a baby last fall; his name is Elvis Harada Litman and he was 3 months old last Tuesday! :)

Posted: 2/5/05 at 2:36pmI agree wtih Therese. C'mon the first tiem you heard it, didn't you giggle? I think people are reading too much into it besides the fact its Sesame Street-esque and a silly pun. That's all.
