that's really strange -i've never seen a production of camelot that contains nudity - i mean yeah mordred and all the men took off their shirts in "fie on goodness", but that's kinda odd...
sorry i can't be more helpful
Ummmmm... none! That is crazy! Nudity isn't written in the script at all. I cannot even imagine where they would add it in. Perhaps Nimue?

?The Enchanted forest of Motgan Le Fey" is a scene which is usually cut from the show. That's where there's plenty of opportunity for nakedness.
what??? do I need to get one of the CDs now???

According to a very reliable source, there will be male buttocks and female breasts on display.
"The Lusty Month of May", perhaps?
how's the jay records CD with Richard Harris? should I get it? it's not the movie soundtrack is it? I'm kinda confused by that...
Male nudity is the only thing that would make me see Camelot again.

The Jay Records CD is most likely from the Broadway/tour revival of the late 1970's. Richard Burton started the tour, but became ill, and Harris replaced him by the time it got to Broadway.

You know there could be nudity in the "Before I Gaze At You Again" scene, Lance amd Jenny could be in a state of undress before Mordred and the soldiers burst in on them.
was the "The Enchanted forest of Motgan Le Fey" scene in the original Broadway production? what's the history on that? why is it usually cut?
maybe in the morgan le fay scene
well, perhaps they are making it more true to the Arthurian legend, ie showing Morgan and Arthur having sex?

"The Enchanted Forest of Morgan Le Fey" makes a long show even longer. It's a ballet (for the most part) with unicorns, dancing trees, rabbits and whatever else the choreographer can come up with. It sets the scene for Arthur to come onstage hunting and Morgan Le Fey "builds" an invisible wall around him--detaining him until Mordred can break in on Lancelot and Guinevere and bring Camelot to its downfall.
I assume it's just instrumental, but has it ever been recorded?
Even if there's just a little nudity in the show, maybe nsmt wanted to warn parents because younger kids might want to see the show or something. I'm definitely seeing it regardless of the nudity lol. Adam Wylie's in it. I'm so excited for this!

I believe the "Enchanted Forest" segment was recorded on the original Londan recording of the show. The one with Laurence Harvey as Arthur. There is some singing between Mordred and Morgan. I recall Mordred singing, "All yours this will be if you make me a wee little wall." And I vaguely remember Mogan singing something to the effect, "Oh Mordred! You were a nasty little boy and I'm told you've become an even nastier little man"
Nudity in Camelot? This is really scraping the bottom of the barrel in order to get an audience in. Very sad.
The ballet and the song "The Persuasion" have never been recorded. The song is actually sung by Mordred trying to tempt LeFay by supplying her with chocolate sending her in orgiastic ecstasy. (Never mind that Chocolate wasn't around in the time of King Arthur, nor was tea, yet in the movie Guenevere asks for a cop of tea!!) It's not much of a song and was cut from later revised versions where the script was re-written to follow a plot device used in the movie where Mordred challenges Arthur's trust or Guenevere and Lance and dares the King to remain in the forest overnight.
"The Persuasion" and "The Jousts" were listed on the jacket of the original pressings of the CAMELOT original Broadway cast album leading to speculation that the songs had been recorded but left of the Lp. The Jackets had been made in advance of the recording session, but the songs were never recorded.
"Then You May Take Me To the Fair" and "Fie on goodness" are on the LP and were in the show when the record was made, but 3 months later both songs were cut from the Broadway production in an attempt to shorten the running time. Both songs ARE heard on the 1964 London cast album (with Laurence Harvey), which has yet to make it to CD. This album includes "The Jousts" but drops the ensemble number "Guenevere."
The Richard Harris recording is of the same production that toured the U.S. and played Broadway's Winter Garden Theatre in the fall of 1981. The recording was made while the show was in London in 1982. (While CAMELOT was at the Winter Garden it was taped for TV and shown on A&E once, but as far as I know it has NEVER been released on video or DVD.)
Cast albums are NOT "soundtracks."
Live theatre does not use a "soundtrack." If it did, it wouldn't be live theatre!

The video of the revival was not only shown on A&E once, it was shown on HBO several dozen times.

Front Row, I don't mean to challenge you, but I really believe the "Enchanted Forest" was on the Laurence Harvey version. Of course, that was 'way back in the days of black vinyl and I don't think the Harvey version was ever released as a CD.
Well, just to be sure, I have pulled out my copy of the Lp and there is no such track.
Side One:
Overture & I Wonder What The King is Doing Tonight
The Simple Joys of Maidenhood
Camelot
Follow Me
C'Est moi
The Lust Month of May
Take Me To the Fair
How to Handle a Woman
Side Two
The Jousts
Before I Gaze at You Again
Fie On Goodness
If Ever I Would Leave You
The Seven Deadly Virtues
What Do the Simple Folk Do
I Loved Him Once in Silence
Camelot (Reprise)
Notice that "Fie on Goodness" is in the wrong place (it should be after "What Do the Simple Folk Do."
Also the title on Broadway was "I Loved You Once in Silence" and I even played the record and the lyric is changed to "I Loved Him..." Odd!
And THANK YOU for the inspiration to pull this old Lp out and give it a play. It's actually quite good and Laurence Harvey does sound a lot like Richard Burton.
