Brooklyn has pretty much no chance of getting a nod, so there's no point in worrying what it might perform on the Tony telecast -- it's not going to happen. There are only four slots for Best Musical and with Spamalot, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Light In The Piazza, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Little Women and even All Shook Up all having gotten better notices out of town than Brooklyn, which got the worst slate of reviews this side of Good Vibrations, it's highly doubtful we'll be seeing anything from Brooklyn on the Tonys. There's also the possibility of Spelling Bee moving from Off-Broadway, which would further render the question moot.

Hmmm...I just thought of something. The fact that this year and other years the number of revivals are slightly less(like in 2002 when there was just Into the Woods and Oklahoma!)..if a revival came out that was just awful that everyone hated and closed in like a month and critics panned, if there were say...two other revivals that year would it still get a nomination b/c it qualifies?

LA CAGE really should do something with the LA CAGELLES.
the mail LA CAGE number maybe too long, but a shortened version could really work and set that show on fire. with a combo with I AM WHAT I AM, who knows they have lots to pick from.

And let us not all forget that there is VERY strong word on the street that LONE STAR LOVE is looking for a house and could have dibs on a smaller Bway house. Its a FUN new musical with a performance by Beth Leval for the ages! Ahhhh gotta love the Tonys!

It probably would, just to give the category a nice round number. But no revivals a scheduled for the rest of this season, so it will probably be just the three eligible shows (La Cage, Pacific Overtures, Sweet Charity).

I was about to say that Pacific Overtures performing "Next" would give away probably the most stunning moment in the show, but since it'll already be closed, the point is moot, isn't it? I wonder how that part would play on television.

I hope they do the Knights of the Round Table song...thought it was funny in the movie! Would love to see it on stage:

I think that GOOD VIBRATIONS, ALL SHOOK UP, BROOKLYN, and CHITTY CHITTY BANG BANG will be up for BEST MUSICAL!

WDINWL? - I totally agree with you! They are by far the best shows on Broadway...Brooklyn and Good Vibrations are truly inspired. Good Vibrations has the best new score since Mamma Mia!!!
