What's Andera McArdle's voice like now?

This might be a stupid question, but I was wondering if Andrea McArdle has the same belty voice that she did in "Annie". I haven't listened to anything else she's done so I was just wondering.

I'm wondering that too. One of the musical directors at camp said she ruined her voice and now can't sing, but I doubt that.

McArdle still has an amazing voice. She probably has a website with sound clips on it somewhere. She definitely can still sing.

i heard her belt the crap out of Mama Rose in GYPSY about two years ago. She sounds fine. She never was a lilting soprano, for pity's sake.

And do you mind correcting your typo in her first name on the thread title?

That's not at all true, she's got a beautiful voice. She was in one of our Standing Ovations concerts a while back and really impressed all in attendance. She has a really sweet gentle quality to her voice that I really love hearing. Go look at the recent Disney ANNIE remake, she plays the star to be in the NYC number. You can tell quite clearly she's still got it!

To me, she sounds exactly the same but obviously with a more mature voice. Girl can still blow the roof off with that belt.

i hope my reference to a "lilting soprano" did not imply i dislike her voice. If anything, with her maturity, her musicality has increased. i find her voice a potent theatrical sound.

Her voice still sounds terrific but it's definately has a more mature mix quality to it.

MFL, I saw her at Joe's Pub earlier this year, as did a lot of BWW members, and we can all tell you that her voice is better than ever. The only time I've ever cried hearing I Dreamed A Dream, in fact.

Hi MyFairLady! My musical director at my theatre camp said the same thing about Andrea too! I think he said something about belting out all those songs in Annie and ruined her voice. MyFairLady what state are you from?

It's hogwash. Andrea's voice is stellar. As Jamie said, she got a thunderous applause for her rendition of The Trolley Song at Standing Ovations II. We then produced her sold-out concert at Joe's Pub where she performed a variety of songs - each one better than the next.

i did GYPSY with her as momma rose and she sounded BEAUTIFUL!! a mature, full, amazing voice at every show

Andrea still has a huge belt but her age as well as years of experience has given her a much more mature sound. Her website is http://andreamcardle.homestead.com and there is a recent sound clip on the main page, I think. The webmistress puts up one sound clip per month.

Andrea's voice is stil Amazing.
I have always said She was a Merman with Heart.
Saw her in Beauty and the Beast and she riffed a bit in
"Change In Me", Got Goose Bumps.
Wish I saw Her in GYPSY!!

I love Andrea. I wish I could have seen her in Starlight express, anyone seen her is that? Was her role even that big?? I only know that she played Ashley.
