Does anyone know what Frenchie Davis is doing lately? It's so hard to find news on her.
I think she is still in Rent.

Frenchie, get a new gig! Lets start a Frenchie for Elphaba thread. I think Elphie could use some curves.
That puts a whole new twist on Defying Gravity.

She's still rocking out at the Neder nightly. While I don't agree with her as Elphaba, she definitely needs something new.

showinoff,
That was too funny.
I love Frenchie, but I really odn't think she has a Broadway voice.
Frenchie sees herself in a different light. Until they give her roles like Glinda in "Wicked" or Fanny Brice (She calls her Funny Brice, Sister doesn't know!)- well until she gets these roles she is going back to teaching ebonics to undeserving children. I asked if she meant Underpriviliged but she said "NO! Undeserving!" so - take it from there.

Question: What is a Broadway voice?
Frenchie gets a standing ovation every night at Rent, and I think she has an excellent voice for Broadway, or for anywhere.
She can't act, so it'll be hard for her to find another Broadway gig.
When does Frenchie appear in Rent besides in the soloist part during Seasons of Love? Is she in other ensemble parts of the show?
She plays the Begger woman. I honestly don't know if she can act or not. Because her charachter doesn't require a lot of acting. But i can tell she can sing!

she plays the same ensemble roles that every SOL soloist has played
I think she has a broadway voice. She studied musical theatre at her college. She learned to sing in german when she did Little Shop of Horrors and Jesus Christ Superstar in Germany.

Frenchie is perfect for the SOL soloist. She blows the roof off the Nederlander nightly during SOL and ICY:R, and her ensemble parts are just fine. She doesn't have to go, so does her job marvelously.
Just don't make her mad around a sleeping baby, Sister goes off!
Doesn't she also understudy Joanne? Did anyone see her go on as Joanne? I imagine you'd get a better sense of her acting from that role than the SOL soloist.
OMG is saw Frenchie go on for Joanne over a year ago and she was AMAZING! she made the show for me and took on a whole new Joanne, and yes her acting was pretty good. remeber she was a musical theatre major!
Sister better start looking for new material since she isn't in "Dreamgirls" THE MOVIE or she's gonna be on the welfare line looking thru all that old Linda Hopkins/Nell Carter material!
Bring back "Ain't Misbehavin'" and stick Sister in as Nell!

At this moment, she's shopping for a bra that will support her massive breasts and not cut into her shoulders.
I saw her in Dreamgirls in Seattle. She was...erm...how do it put this...
One of the worst professional performances I have ever seen.
She can sing. I don't deny that. I thought she'd be a perfect fit for Effie but her book scenes were awful. Even her "I Am Telling You..." was lackluster. She just didn't grasp what Effie was all about. She made you hate Effie.

I saw her as Joanne a few months ago and LOVED her...
