It's not a name that's mentioned nearly enough in the Broadway community, but Jim Steinman (Dance of the Vampires, Whistle Down the Wind) has just done two nights of his new The Dream Engine concept: which will repeat in March at Joe's Pub. One of the new songs: "We're Still the Children (We Were Then)" with Rob Evan as the centrepiece performer.
Steinman and Wildhorn were working on a musical of EXCALIBUR, though I have no idea if this is still in the works (probably not, knowing Frank, and it's no longer mentioned in his bio at Diabelli Management).
Wildhorn is working on a host of stuff: casting was recently done for RUDOLF - THE LAST KISS which will premiere in Hungary this May, and Vienna 2007. Not to mention the West End premiere of CYRANO DE BERGERAC, coinciding with the CD release on Global Vision Records. For those "in the dark" it isn't over for Wildhorn. He and Jeremy are geering up for the April 4 releases of "Dracula the Concept Recording" and "Jekyll & Hyde: Resurrection". He has about a truckload of musicals in development.
I just got around to lstening to THE LIKES OF US by Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice. Wouldn't mind seeing that pursued in a concert setting, and it could do quite well. I definitely think Andrew's "last hurrah" should be a musical with Tim Rice.
Rumours abound of further Lloyd Webber revivals: Aspects of Love, Cats and a renewed WHISTLE DOWN THE WIND

How long has CATS been closd in London? Its a little soon for here in the US.
What is Rudolph: The Last Kiss about? I love wildhorn's music, but this title just sounds horrible.
Doesn't JRB's "13" feature a cast of 13 who are indeed 13yr olds? I wonder how complex it will be since the cast has to be able to sing it and they're only 13 -right
Schwartz's newest piece is Captain Louie - which I actually recommend. Great songs and great singers. "New Kid in the Neighbordhood" is a great melody.
