What's this Musical?

My school is doing a Spring Musical this year and the music dept. refuse to disclose the title of the show. Here are the clues that we were given.
It's a musical that features 3 Male Lead Roles and 3 Female Lead Roles.
Any ideas what it could be?

they are probably referring either to:

The Apple Tree (Eve, Barbara and Ella) Adam, Sanjar,George L.

Brown

or

Anything Goes (Reno, Hope, Bonnie) Billy,Evelyn,Moonface

and they are very often done in schools:))))

I was thinking of Anythin Goes or Guys and Dolls, but I wasn't sure if Guys and Dolls had three female leads. When I was in hs they did both of them...they're popular for school productions.

Well isn’t that a wonderful program that refuses to give their students the opportunity to explore everything about a production before the auditions? Are they playing games with you?Or perhaps they have not secured the rights to produce this show. Either way it is a very bad idea and you should DEMAND that your teachers tell you what show you should be preparing for.

That really is a shame that they won't tell you what the musical is. I found out what our school was doing this February in March, and we started working on the music during the summer. They really should tell you what the musical is.

If them not telling us isn't bad enough, 3 years ago when we did another musical the audition song everyone did was "Happy Birthday." And yes, we only do 1 musical every 3 years. We're not big on plays/musicals here in PA.

There are rumors flying around that the musical is West Side Story, 42nd Street, or even Annie Get Your Gun.
But like I said eariler, we don't find out what the musical is until AFTER auditions. So basically I could be auditioning for a part that I would never want to play and could end up getting it. Phew! Holy run on...

Did I not tell you to demand that they tell you so you can properly prepare? I am serious. You should take this to the principal or someone higher up and explain that this is not any way to treat people who have an intrest in performing outside of school. Nowhere in the world does any actor walk into an audition with out some idea of the roles available and what the show is. Take a stand and demand!

I'll back you up on this 100%. Now go get 'em.

Your lucky. My high school drama teacher had something against musicals and never let us do them. I think he was bitter cuz he couldn't sing..lol
