I have corrected it so now you can relax
Q,
I love Q! But, Forbidden Broadway is my favorite show. Even more than Q. I have seen it 60 times over the last 20 plus years.

Well, I was pretty crushed with The History Boys closed (of course), but hypothetically, I may go into mourning if Phantom closes.
I may have to commit suicide if Phantom closes!
Mamma Mia! but I don't think I'll have to worry about that.

Not to jump on the bandwagon, but I would be really upset if RENT closed. As others have said, it has seen better days and it has it's problems, but I can't help but love it and don't want to even THINK about the possibility of it closing. I'd also be pretty upset if Wicked closed, but not as much as RENT. But thankfully, I don't really see either of these closing terribly soon.
I'd be upset if Rent closed because like some others have said too, it was a big part of what got me into Musical Theatre and Broadway mostly. But yes I agree, it has seen it's better days, but still for it to close would be sad. And also, I would be very upset if the Phantom of the Opera or Jersey Boys closed anytime soon.
BARE.... oh wait...
I agree, devastated is a pretty strong word. I'd be sad if Rent closed though. I practically grew up with that show. Its been a little anemic lately sure, and I'm not saying I wouldn't like to see some new shows out there, but it'd just be a little weird at first to see the Nederlander show something big and fancy

I wouldn't be absolutely devastated, but I'll be a little sad when Grey Gardens closes.
I was upset when a few shows closed:
1. LA CAGE AUX FOLLES
2. Millie
3. Caroline or Change
People, you can love a show but the people I feel bad for are the actors who are out of work.
The dancing in the LA CAGE revival blew me away. Thank you Andy Pellick!!!

What ticks me off is when I start liking a musical right after it closes. I bought the Assassins cd a month after the revival closed, and it was like, "crap, I wish I knew how good this was earlier and I wish that it didn't take me me a month and a half to get get over my anxity of buying an cast recording with a picture on the cover of a guy in a Santa suit holding a gun."
On the Rent thing, I would be upset if it closed, but right now it's like it's a loved one in a coma. It's hardly alive, but we can't bear to think about letting go because we remember when it was so full of life. Plese do not send me hate PMs
How is RENT in a coma? I'm not like, offended by you saying that, but after the movie came out the amount of followers it had skyrocketed. They're probably making a good amount of money now and will be for a while. After things die down, they'll close. I doubt it will be anytime soon, though.
If RENT is in any kind of coma, it's the, "I'm so afraid of RENT's fans that I do not want to go see the show because I'm afraid of the people I will meet," coma. Not the, "No one wants to see RENT!" coma. Unless that's what you meant.

Allow me to clarify. I do think that the movie helped. However, I was refering to the fact that overall-specifically concerning some members of the current Broadway cast- Rent lacks the energy that it had ten years ago. I thought the OBC concert in April was bitter-sweet, because it reminded me that there once was a time where there wasn't concern about the fact that they are running out of former child stars to play Mark. I was not refering to ticket sales, because as long as there is an Angel to cheer for in the first act, the fans will be there, keeping the show alive.
Okay. That clears things up, and yeah, the movie helped significantly. I really don't think it's going to close soon. Anyways, that's enough about that.

I was devestated when I found out The Wedding Singer was closing.
I think I would be devestated is Rent closed.

Lestat. I hope it never closes. I don't think that will happen, though, because it must be doing well because it's impossible to get a ticket to see it.

I don't really get devastated when a show I've seen closes. I just get really bummed but then I say, "Well, at least I saw it."
