Thanks for that link MargoChanning. I never knew of the site existed before you posted it. Looks interesting.
The Chess Benefit concert is available on DVD? I don't think so. Anyone have a link?
The tapes in Lincoln Center are not commercially available so that doesn't work for me. I'm not about to go lying saying I'm working on some project or other to see some footage, even if I could get away with it.

IN addition to SWEENEY TODD, RKO released E-Channel videos of I DO! I DO! (with Lee Remick, Hal Linden) and PURLIE (with mots of the orig cast reassembled.) ALso A&E showed the Cathy Rigby PETER PAN and that is out on DVD.
The Entertainment Channel also taped and broadcast the revival of CAMELOT with Richard Harris but as far as I have been able to track down it was never released on VHS or DVD.
I'm glad a number of the Sondheim shows have been preserved with their original casts, but when I see shows like JEKYLL AND HYDE (witha replacemnet cast too!) I wish the selections were more carefully made. Why no TITANIC? RAGTIME? URINETOWN? No one took advantage of taping the Roudabout revivals of NINE or ASSASSINS.
Cast albums are NOT "soundtracks."
Live theatre does not use a "soundtrack." If it did, it wouldn't be live theatre!
I host a weekly one-hour radio program featuring cast album selections as well as songs by cabaret, jazz and theatre artists. The program, FRONT ROW CENTRE is heard Sundays 9 to 10 am and also Saturdays from 8 to 9 am (eastern times) on www.proudfm.com

I would highly recommend Broadway Theatre Archive's taped production of William Saroyan's "The Time of Your Life", with Patti LuPone's brilliant performance as Kitty Duvall.
Also good is their taped production of "Fifth of July" with Swoosie Kurtz and Richard Thomas.
