Once On This Island - Andrea - It wasn't the role so much as the incredible show itself, the amazing ensemble cast and superp choreography. I miss that show like I've missed no other show!

Also, My Fair Lady - Eliza Doolittle - It was a blast to get to dress up and tackle such a challenging role! SOOO much work, but worth it!

I just did a little melodrama version of cinderella that my husband wrote. I was a stepsister! It was fun to be the bad girl. And, we sang Strongest Suit from Aida. It fit perfectly! That's me as the stepsister in my icon.

beautiful! i agree that eliza is a hard role to handle (i played her at a local theatre for three weeks). it was a fun role. i love to dress us and be someone i'm not.
i loved playing seymour in little shop.
Stanley in Brighton Beach Memoirs because it was my first time playing someone who was actually my age, where I was playing adults in high school shows prior to that. Also, I really learned a lot about acting during that show, and my 'family' for Brighton Beach was so close so it made all the acting and emotions so much easier to use on stage. I think it was my favorite because I learned a lot about myself and a lot of the potential I have as an actor. Not to sound conceited, but you know what I mean.

Was anyone ever in a show that just totally confused the hell out of them? For A Midsummer Night's Dream, my drama teacher had this idea to have it take place in a department store, and the fairies be mannequins. To this day, I understood the script, but I still don't understand the concept of how it was being done.
I love crazy drama teachers! And substitutes. My teacher this year was out because she was having a baby, and we had this whacko substitute come in to cover the class for a few months. She said that she remembered coming out of the womb as a newborn and that there is a 'terrorist' inside her that makes her afraid to be outgoing as an actress. But she calls it a 'terrorista' because it is 'feminine.' It was terrifying to be in that room...

I loved being Nancy in Oliver and Dorothy in The Wizard Of Oz to death. Those will always be my favorites.

But my favorite musical to actually be in was Godspell even though I didnt like my part (I was the one that sang By My Side.) I love that play because the actors get so much say in the creation of the project and free reign to add lib and have tons of fun.

		     			ahhh so hard to choose!
Straight play: Brighton Beach Memoirs (Laurie). This was one of the first straight plays I did and it was a huge learning experience for me. Plus, the small cast was amazing, and the show got incredible reviews!
Musical lead: Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz. I know it's pure cheese, but it was a childhood dream come true! hehe.
Chorus: toss up between Cabaret and Crazy for You. Both were wicked shows to be a dancer in!

*edit* JOIZEY: I felt the same way about BBM, in terms of the family and the learning experience!

years and years ago, in high school, i was Mr. Paravacini in "The Mousetrap" and then, later that year, I was Tony in "The Boyfriend" ... the next year, i was cast as Valere in "Tartuffe" but we lost our director in a car crash, so we had to cancel the production...
joeyjoe - is that the director who wanted to practice alone with you in the previous season?LOL.....
Mine, as I have stated a bazillion times - is Don Q/Cervantes in Man of La Mancha. I've played it several times now and hope to continue playing it until the day I die...its such a moving and positive experience (both for the performers and the audience).

Jesus in Godspell was a blast.

Narrating 'Rocky Horror.' I take it as an honor that I was considered by FAR the most inappropriate and offensive part of the show.
That's a tough one because I've loved doing different shows for different reasons. Big River didn't have a great role for me, but I had the most fun because of the cast. A New Brain was something I never got tired of performing. My favorite show to do, both for the show itself and my role, was when I played Usher/Samovar (the Groucho role) in A Day in Hollywood/A Night in the Ukraine. That show is due for a revival. It's pretty amazing. The CD doesn't do it justice.
I think Charlie Cowell in the "The Music Man" was my favorite because I am so NOT like the character, so I got to be someone completely different for a while. Hugo Peabody in "Bye Bye Birdie" was also fun, but that wasn't too much of a stretch for me.
I was in M*A*SH. The show itself was ok...it was the cast that made it so much fun.
Okay, I was only in three musicals in high school, Hello Dolly, My Fair Lady and Brigadoon. I loved Brigadoon.
I loved being in GUYS AND DOLLS, but my favorite stagework was when I got to play Robert in COMPANY.
BRIGADOON is a highly underappreciated musical.

last year we did Godspell i was an apostle. IT is such a fun show. even if u dont believe and jesus and all.(I;m jewish) it is sooooo much fun, and it was sold out every night
I have only been in one musical.......OKLAHOMA and I played Fred? Who's Fred? Exactly!!!!

I was in TAMING OF THE SHREW this past spring. I was Gremio (the old pervert pedafile). That was a fun character to play. I got to be old and have a pimp cane. I also had the best/funniest scene in the whole play. Let's just say that audience was rolling on the floor.......and no.......not THAT floor.

I was in two musical revues in college two years ago. In the revues, I was the title character and Andre in the PHANTOM OF THE OPERA segment, John the Baptist/Judas in the GODSPELL segment, sang the solo on "The Proposal" in the TITANIC segment (LOVE that song), Linus in the YAGMCB segment, and so on.

But the favorite still goes to Gremio.
